Ohio County Water District Achieves 100% AWOP Score in 2024

The Ohio County Water District (OCWD) is proud to announce that it achieved a 100% score in Kentucky’s Area-Wide Optimization Program (AWOP) for 2024.

AWOP is widely recognized as Kentucky’s gold standard for water quality, setting performance goals that exceed basic regulatory requirements. Achieving these benchmarks reflects OCWD’s commitment to providing cleaner, safer drinking water for the community.

Out of more than 200 water treatment plants statewide, only 53 met AWOP goals, and just 20 achieved a perfect 100% score. OCWD’s performance places the District in the top 10% of water systems in Kentucky.

This achievement reflects the dedication and professionalism of OCWD’s treatment staff and their ongoing focus on operational excellence.
